Minor (White) Mosque
Snow-white mosque on the bank of the Ankhor canal
Minor Street, Tashkent
About
The Minor (White) Mosque is a modern mosque on the Anhor Canal near Minor Street. The building is finished in light tones. Its white facades, large blue dome, and two tall minarets are clearly visible from the embankment. It is an active mosque, so the atmosphere inside is quiet; visit the grounds in modest clothing and outside prayer times.
The site is compact and easy to combine with a walk along the canal. In summer the marble courtyard heats up quickly, so a morning or late afternoon visit is more comfortable. Shoes are removed before entering the prayer hall, and quiet, respectful behaviour is expected.
